Star Curls (Curly Braiding Hair)

These are made for braids/twists with curls at the tips and have a silky texture. Available in 10, 16 and 22 inches. Each pack weighs approx 150g (+ or – 9g). They are made from high temperature synthetic fibre. We recommend 5 packs for a full head of 22 inches, 4 packs for a full head of 16 inches and 3 packs for a full head of 10 inches but you can use more or less depending on how full you want it. Please note actual shade may vary due to lighting and batch production and multiple colour mixes may vary per pack as it’s hand mixed. You may have an even mix or one colour more dominant than the other. To control the mix, please purchase the individual colors used and have them mixed by your stylist during installation. Texture per colour may also vary due to the dyeing process.
Before braiding, please comb through the extensions with a Denman or scalp massaging brush (we have a video guide here <—click to watch) to ensure there are no knots that could lead to tangling. After brushing, you can proceed to section the extensions for braiding. We recommend braiding using the knotless method to ensure the hair is properly secured to your head as its a silky texture. No hot water is needed for the ends as it comes already curly and is intended to have loose curly ends however if for any reason you lose your curls, you can wrap round your desired curling tool and dip in hot water to add curls to the ends (we have a video guide here <—click to watch). After braiding, apply mousse to the braids but not the curls. To define the curls at the tips, use hair cream with good slip (a good example is Oge hair food) on each curl. A moisturizing leave-in conditioner also works and this can be used for maintenance. Please trim off any frizzy ends after braiding.
If making large braids, please be sure to secure the ends properly with bands as it will unravel if left unsecured. Where it’s small sized braids (recommended size), please tie the ends with a small piece of the hair multiple times to ensure it does not unravel.
